Engineered for high-demand industrial environments, the CWHD brings enhanced rotation performance and material reliability to modern lifting processes.
Engineered for rotation under load
The CWHD is designed for lifting applications where the load must rotate during movement or positioning. In many industrial processes, rotation is necessary to correctly orient components, reduce strain on connected equipment, or prevent twisting of slings and assemblies. Without a controlled rotation point, operators often face increased friction, misalignment, or torsional forces that can compromise safety and efficiency.
The CWHD addresses these challenges directly at the lifting interface. Its design enables rotation even when the component is fully loaded, allowing the suspended item to align naturally during lifting, lowering, or horizontal repositioning. This makes the CWHD particularly valuable in workflows where equipment must be turned, angled, or guided through narrow spaces.
Perfect quality for smoother, safer lifting
Moste of the CWHD components are manufactured from Grade 60 AISI 318LN Duplex stainless steel, known for its high ductility and superior corrosion resistance (DIN EN ISO 9227 > 1008 h). The safety pin, ball bearings, screws, and nuts are also Grade 60 AISI materials. The current CWHD model offers a Working Load Limit (WLL) of 0.63 t.
Application areas across multiple industries
Furthermore, the cromox® CWHD is engineered for environments where corrosion resistance, hygiene requirements, and long-term material reliability are essential. We develop our components to perform consistently in applications where conventional lifting hardware reaches its limits.
Typical use cases include:
- Food & beverage: lifting mixers, processing machinery, tanks
- Pharmaceutical & biotechnology: handling centrifuges, cleanroom equipment, and sensitive systems
- Water treatment: pumps, filtration units
- Marine & offshore: equipment exposed to seawater, moisture, or aggressive media
Because we use Grade 60 stainless steel with high resistance to corrosive media, the CWHD delivers stable performance even during continuous 24/7 offshore operation. This makes it a reliable choice for customers who require robust materials, minimal maintenance, and consistent performance under extreme conditions.
Key benefits and product positioning
The CWHD combines controlled rotation under load with the durability and corrosion resistance of Grade 60 stainless steel for reliable performance in demanding environments. And this is why we plan to expand the available capacity range in the future. At present, the 0.63 t version already performs exceptionally well in rotating connector applications and is one of the strongest solutions in its class.
To maintain short lead times and ensure reliable global supply, we continuously strengthen inventory levels in our warehouses in Germany, the United Kingdom, and the United States, with direct shipping from our headquarters in Germany.
Compatibility within the cromox® lifting system
The CWHD is fully compatible with multiple components in the cromox® lifting system, including the CGHF-05, CGS-05, CGSL-05, and CVG-05 master links and sub-assemblies. By designing our lifting hardware as a coordinated system, we ensure seamless integration into complete stainless steel assemblies and offer users a consistent, reliable setup across the entire lifting chain.
